Blessed Trinity Lay Carmelite Community
Contact: Lourdes Crabtree 416-628-0746

Lay Carmelites (Third Order Secular of the Order of Carmelites) are Roman Catholic men and women who "live in the following of Jesus Christ according to the traditions and spirit of Carmel". They are called to a vocation of love, seeking God's will in the ordinary circumstances of life. Carmelite friars, nuns, sisters, and laity share this 800-year-old tradition of contemplative prayer, community, and ministry. It is a path to holiness embraced by St. Therese of Lisieux, St. Teresa of Avila, St. John of the Cross, and others. We meet on the 2nd Saturday of the month. For more information, visit laycarmelites.org.

Committee for Communion to the Sick
Contact: Sylvia Leaver 416-226-2744

The Committee for Communion to the Sick provides three types of ministry service to family parishioners of Blessed Trinity Parish:

1) Holy Communion - Twelve home within and outside our parish boundary are visited each week -- to bring Holy Communion to the sick and elderly. We also bring Communion to Catholic residents in Extendicare Bayview and Carefree Lodge.

2) Monthly Mass - Every first and second Friday of the month, we organize the celebration of Mass for Catholic residents in both nursing homes. There are 31 Catholics in Extendicare and 22 at Carefree Lodge, however, only a third of them are able to attend. Nonetheless, our priests come to say the Mass for them.

3) Anointing of the Sick - Twice a year, we coordinate with our priests the administration of this Sacrament of the Sick in private homes and nursing homes.

Blessed Trinity Liturgical Choir
Contact: Matthew Otto 416-226-0262

It is the mission of Blessed Trinity Choir to enhance liturgies by the performance of appropriate music. Our goal is to provide an enriching experience both for the worshiping congregation and ourselves. To achieve this end, we aim to grow musically as a choir and as a community, in and of ourselves. Growth requires stimulation, nurturing and bonding. Each of these may be achieved in a variety of ways: Liturgies, Concerts, Exchange Visits, and Travel. Through our music and dedication, we strive for enhanced spirituality -- personally, and as a group.

The Blessed Trinity Liturgical Choir (formerly known as the "Senior Choir") sings at the 10:30 a.m. Sunday Mass from mid-September to late June. In addition, the choir leads music at the following liturgies: Christmas Midnight Mass, Christmas morning, New Year's and Triduum, including Easter Vigil and Easter morning and other liturgies as requested by the pastor. Traditionally, the choir sings an annual Christmas Concert in collaboration with the Children's Choir and professional musicians. While not advertised, we do sing at weddings when requested.

With nearly fifty choristers, the BT Liturgical Choir recruits new members throughout the liturgical year, mainly during the Fall. The choir director auditions each prospective member and details our ministry's responsibilities to each candidate.
